Steve is a Business Improvement Manager with extensive experience of structured improvement methods applied to product and service quality and efficiency in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Transactional environments. A leader of expert improvement teams, and collaborative cross-functional improvement teams, delivering priority improvement projects, on a large or small scale.
He is 6-Sigma Black Belt & Master Black Belt Certified (Ford / Six Sigma Academy). He has extensive technical problem solving skills and experience from cross-functional team leader roles in new model launch, current model quality continuous improvement, and is a department-wide ‘Technical Specialist’ for Six-Sigma methods & tools.
He has been recognised as having a talent for teaching and coaching continuous improvement methods to Black Belt level within a large organisation. Leading employee engagement, training and coaching of continuous improvement project leaders and teams to success.
He has also completed academic research in the field of ‘Continuous Improvement Leadership’, developing cutting-edge insight into the role required of leaders within the ‘Continuous Improvement Environment’ of a large organisation.
He has wide experience leading supplier engagement in continuous quality improvement, working in partnership with and coaching of leaders in tier-1 automotive supplier organisations.
A proficient leader of Six-Sigma learning programmes at all levels, including development of new and innovative integrated development programmes, both lead and in partnership with training providers and academic partners.
His has an engineering design background with wide experience of automotive OEM product development process, methods and tools including gated product development systems, Systems Engineering, Failure-Mode Avoidance, CAD, Engineering release, design optimisation & verification, change management, APQP, PSW.
